Legacy Tale’s Guided Tale membership uses modules for simplicity and organization. Modules are grouped tasks and assignments that simplify the writing process. The modules also provide motivation and informal accountability to keep you moving forward.
The Guided Tale System
Preparing a personal history involves several components; the Guided Tale directs you at every step:
- How to collect and scan photos and important documents, labeling them with dates, places and names.
- Ways to remember and write the parts of your life that shaped you into the person you are.
- Guidance in explaining how and why those moments have been impactful in your life, and why they are so important to you.
- Direction in compiling those stories and pictures to weave them into a single, fluid story.
The Guided Tale breaks each of these into small, manageable tasks.

- Time management. There are 10 modules in this Tale, with a total of 52 assignments. If you complete one assignment each week, you will have a rich memoir at the end of one year.
- Self-paced. While designed to do one assignment each week, you can go as fast or as slow as you want.
- Email support. You may have unique questions or concerns when writing your history. Because of this, we include email support with the Guided Tale membership.
